Crosby Beach

Home to Antony Gormley's haunting "Another Place" installation, where 100 life-sized iron figures cast from the artist's own body stand scattered across the sand and sea in silent contemplation, this beach has become an internationally renowned art destination that transforms with every tide and weather condition. The sculptures, which stretch along three kilometers of coastline, create an ever-changing dialogue between art and nature as they're alternately revealed and submerged by the Irish Sea, while the beach itself offers excellent walking opportunities and has become a pilgrimage site for art lovers who come to experience how the figures interact with the dramatic skies and shifting light of the Merseyside coast.
