Filey's five-mile crescent of golden sand creates one of Yorkshire's finest family beaches, protected by the distinctive rocky outcrop of Filey Brigg that juts dramatically into the sea. The wide, gently sloping beach offers safe swimming and excellent conditions for beach games, while the Victorian promenade provides traditional seaside pleasures without the crowds of larger resorts. Filey Brigg itself is a designated nature reserve perfect for birdwatching and exploring rockpools, with spectacular views across Filey Bay.
