Lulworth Cove
This perfectly horseshoe-shaped cove, carved from Portland limestone over thousands of years, creates one of geography textbooks' most famous examples of coastal erosion in action. The almost circular bay with its narrow entrance provides sheltered swimming and kayaking conditions, while the surrounding cliffs offer spectacular walking opportunities along some of Britain's most dramatic coastline. The adjacent village provides excellent pubs and the fascinating Lulworth Heritage Centre, making this geological wonder equally appealing to families, students, and serious coastal walkers exploring the South West Coast Path.
