Hidden away in a secluded valley on the South Devon coast, this pristine sandy beach feels like a well-kept secret, accessible only via a pleasant 20-minute walk through the privately owned Flete Estate's ancient woodland and parkland, where peacocks roam freely and magnificent trees create a cathedral-like canopy overhead. The sheltered cove offers exceptionally calm, clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling, with visibility often extending several meters underwater, revealing rocky outcrops teeming with marine life including wrasse, crabs, and occasional seal sightings. The surrounding woodland and complete lack of commercial development maintain an unspoiled, almost primeval atmosphere that feels worlds away from modern life, while the beach's orientation provides shelter from prevailing winds, creating a natural sun trap that extends the swimming season.
