Teignmouth Beach
Dogs are not permitted on the main beach between the slipway at Eastcliff and the lighthouse at the point (1 April to 30 September).
Teignmouth's town beach successfully combines working port heritage with seaside recreation, creating an authentic maritime atmosphere that sets it apart from purely tourist-oriented resorts. The expansive sandy beach, backed by colorful Georgian terraces and the bustling harbor, offers excellent swimming conditions and spectacular views across the Teign estuary. The town's genuine character, with its fish market, traditional pubs, and active fishing fleet, provides visitors with an authentic taste of Devon coastal life. The nearby Ness headland and coastal railway add dramatic elements to an already picturesque setting.
