My first visit to this fort. Lots of history on display with well made displays to explain the history of this fascinating sea fort. With three levels to explore, excellent views from the top, kids assault course in construction, and a hidden mouse trail for the little ones. Great cafeteria and shop too.

This historical attraction is very good value and set up well for most ages. My initial issue was the layout and location of the entrance to buy tickets, as this is up 5 steep stairs & there was no clear signage or assistance for those with mobility issues or push chairs etc. There is another entrance that can be opened but no one was staffing this so unclear if you could just go in. Also there are two positions inside to purchase tickets but as one is right by the entrance it blocks others using the second. Maybe an additional outside booth would be more efficient for those nobility challenged visitors. The facilities though are great, with the underground section set up really well and accessible by lift. Lots to read, hear & see. The very upper levels gives you views of the surrounding area and you can see how the large guns were placed. The main level has activities for kids, cafe & toilet facilities along with, of course, a good gift shop. Look out for extra activities during school holiday periods. Three carparks close by but also not a long walk from Weymouth town. Dogs are allowed in and welcome.

I had a fantastic visit to Nothe Fort in Weymouth! The fort is much bigger than I expected, with so many interesting exhibits showcasing its rich military history. The museum is well-organized, with engaging displays and interactive elements that make the experience enjoyable for all ages. The views from the fort are absolutely stunning, offering a breathtaking panorama of the Jurassic Coast. The tunnels and hidden passages add a sense of adventure, making it a great place for both adults and kids. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to share fascinating insights. The on-site café was a pleasant surprise, serving delicious homemade cakes and snacks at reasonable prices. Overall, Nothe Fort is a must-visit in Weymouth. Whether you’re a history enthusiast or just looking for a great day out, this place has something for everyone. Highly recommended!

Took the family to Nothe fort in Weymouth. Price includes an annual pass. Was interesting to find out the history of the fort and Portland harbour. We all enjoyed walking around and had things to do for the kids. We also did the harbour boat trip, which was good (this is priced separately). I would recommend.
