Teign Heritage
Reviews
Lovely little museum with extremely friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. Has shop, loo, lift and lots of local artefacts. I never knew that the French had attacked and destroyed Teignmouth in 1690, mistaking it for Plymouth. Very interesting exhibits across two floors with an outdoor roof terrace proffering rooftop views.
Lovely clean and pleasant seaside town with lots of individual pubs, cafes and restaurants to choice from. Good selection of shops and excellent coastline to walk along. Heritage museum well worth a visit.
On a recent journey back to the UK I had the absolute privilege of finding The Teignmouth Heritage Museum and meeting Lorraine, Julie and Geoff. I arrived off the train, flustered and weighed down with luggage and discovered that there was no storage at the station. This visit was to see my Dads place of birth and revisit childhood holiday memories. The three of them become such an important part of my trip. I was relieved of my luggage and freed up to explore. I could not have done it without your kindness, your knowledge and your caring and delightful assistance. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and see you all again next year. A very interesting and informative centre to visit. The staff were very helpful and curtious .
This is a very nice and airy museum. Lots of interesting items about Teignmouth and local history, informative gives a great insight into the area. The staff are friendly and the admission fee very reasonable with free return visits for a year. All in all a good couple of hours entertainment.
