Scarlet Hotel

The best getaway, celebrating my belated birthday and baby moon 👶🏼🌙 On our way down to the hotel, we had quite a traumatic and stressful journey, as one of our tyres decided to blow-out. We called the hotel to let them know of the situation and that we were likely to be late for check-in. Caterina was extremely kind and understanding, reassuring us that everything was going to be OK. Upon arrival, Caterina welcomed us with drinks and some nibbles, making sure our check-in was smooth and easy. Having arrived to our room, we were blown away by the beautiful views of the sea and how lovely the rooms were. Having a hand written welcome card was a lovely touch, too. The food and drinks selection were exceptional, having a nouvelle cuisine style menu made sure they offered a different variety of options but still within small but elegant 3-course options. The staff were very kind and welcoming, nothing was ever a big ask, and they all did their responsibilities with lovely smiles on their faces. We want to say a special thank you to Finn for his kindness and his conscious efforts to ensure we were taken care of. It was lovely to have him serving us for dinner and breakfast, throughout our stay. I was very impressed by the attention to detail that everything was set by. From having a booking system set for the hot tub to ensure the temperatures were adequate for pregnancy, to the personal experience of having drinks served throughout your stay, no matter where ever you were within the hotel (spa, hot tub, room, reception, etc!). The treatments my partner and I had were beautiful. We want to say a special thank you to Linda and Zaz for the lovely full body massages (including pregnancy), we felt ever so relaxed for the remainder of our stay. From beginning to end, the whole experience was 10/10. To make the experience even better, we had beautiful sunny weather, making us feel as if we were abroad. Thank you to the whole Scarlet team, we had the best trip we could have ever asked for.

The Scarlet is iconic for a reason. It is, very simply, ridiculously cool. I've been fortunate enough to have shot both a wedding and an editorial there, and both times the team were absolutely great. The wedding was a tiny secret elopement with just the bride, the groom, me and the staff, two of which stood in as witnesses. After morning preps in their gorgeous room, the couple exchanged vows on a patch of quiet garden over looking the Cornish sea. After followed fizz and some canapes before they took the opportunity of a quick photoshoot on the beach. Highly recommended.

Overall, a lovely and relaxing experience, but I didn't feel it was good value for money. Garden work was being done while we were in the cliff top tub with workers quite near us talking loudly, and it was not a private space. There was another tub right next to us being used the same time. The room had no air conditioning and ran quite warm at night even in March so it was hard to sleep. We paid extra for a room with a little upstairs nook that was sea-facing and honestly the view and vibe was not worth the extra- we mainly saw a grassy rooftop. Now for the positives: The staff were warm, lovely, and very helpful. They sent us a complimentary mimosa for breakfast as we had mentioned we were there to celebrate our anniversary. The food was nice and well presented. I was impressed by the plant-forward dinner menu. The view was amazing, but the cliff top tub experience would have been better if there were no workers in the garden or another couple right next to us.

My girlfriend and I had the best couple of days here celebrating our anniversary. The food is outstanding all breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service impeccable, staff super friendly and very attentive. They make you feel really comfortable. The spa was a paradise. Nothing wrong with the room, very romantic. At the end of the stay I didn’t want to leave and I booked an extra night for how good it was!

What a wonderful place, loved the cliff top jacuzzi and the spa is lovely. Even the 7 degrees reed pool was a lovely experience on a February day. The views from everywhere are beautiful and the hotel itself is lavishly decorated with tasteful art and warm furnishings.The room was spectacular and the bath and shower very welcome. The cocktails were lovely in the bar and the breakfast wow (if only they had not run out of the trout) but the kippers and English breakfast were stunning as well as the chefs special granola,pastries and vitamin drink mmmm. It's the small things as well,well trained polite staff, a glass of fizz on arrival and they charged our electric car for us. They even delivered coffee to the room to wake us up at a chosen time. Pure class and luxury. We will be back on the regular from now on. A pure delight! Thank you scarlet!
