Lantic Bay
A crescent of pristine sand nestled between dramatic headlands near Polruan, this National Trust-protected haven feels wonderfully remote despite being within walking distance of civilization. The steep descent through gorse-covered clifftops leads to a sheltered cove where families can enjoy safe swimming in calm conditions, with crystal-clear waters and excellent rockpools at either end. The surrounding coastal path offers spectacular views across the English Channel, and the nearby Hall Walk provides one of Cornwall's most scenic circular routes through ancient woodlands. Parking is limited and the path can be muddy after rain, so arrive early and wear appropriate footwear, while the lack of facilities means bringing your own refreshments is essential.
